23 STEPS
1. The first step is to open the return and click Additional Info
2. Answer the question. Click Yes or No
3. If the taxpayer has a state issued driver’s license or id, Click Yes
4. Select Type of ID Card
5. Select the Issuing State
6. Type taxpayer’s id number
7. Select taxpayer’s id issue month
8. Select taxpayer’s id issue day
9. Select taxpayer’s id issue year
10. Select taxpayer’s id expiration month
11. Select taxpayer’s id expiration day
12. Select taxpayer’s id expiration year
13. If you verified the taxpayer’s identity in person, click Yes. If not, click No.
14. Check the box if you have verified the possession of a current primary government id
15. Check the box if the taxpayer’s current primary government picture id is valid
16. Check the box if the taxpayer’s current primary government picture id is verified
17. If you verified the taxpayer identity in person, Click No. If you verified it remotely, continue with the next steps.
18. Click Yes, if you verified the current government id number and a financial or utility account number.
19. Check the box if you have confirmed the government id OR account number
20. Check the box if you have confirmed BOTH the government ID and account number.
21. Answer the Schedule LEP question by selecting yes or no.
22. Click Save
23. That’s it. You’re done.
